TRAININGS AND UNIVERSITY CURRICULA
The project will contribute to knowledge transfer enabling the Turkish construction industry to implement EE approaches and thereby reduce the carbon footprint of Turkish real estates. The project provides a unique opportunity for engineers and architects to qualify as DGNB auditors in Turkey.
The project will spread the comprehensive DGNB philosophy and method in Turkey, reducing carbon footprint of the industry and enhancing social performance of buildings. Turkish universities will be invited to develop curricula and new certified vocational trainings for a new profession in the building and real estate sector.
By training a pool of DGNB standard auditors who are familiarized with the cost-saving potential resulting from using modern construction materials, the project links technical expertise in green building certification with practical knowledge on how to comply with the increasing number of EE regulations, laws and bylaws.
Why
BENEFITS ON A MACRO-ECONOMIC SCALE
An increasing number of certified buildings would ultimately lead to macro-economic benefits in form of energy savings. With every new energy efficient building, and every retrofitting effort, energy savings will contribute to Turkey´s efforts to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and thereby support the country reaching Kyoto Protocol criteria, which the government of Turkey agreed to. Environmental Quality within the DGNB audit process is regarded as important as the main quality areas, such as economic, socio-cultural and technical quality of the building.
Real estate investors, builders, house-owners, architects, publicauthorities, companies and other stakeholders will benefit fromconsultancy services and audits enabled by the training of EE experts. This in turn will contribute to improving the quality and sustainability of construction and rehabilitation of real estates, to the advantage of the Turkish population. The programme offers an innovative process to more energy efficient homes and better working places.
